Fun movie with great visuals, design, sound and all the big monster fights we have been waiting for. Some good scenes with the cast but I couldn’t care less. Does help in provide the human POV though.

Forget about the plot, and go watch it for the sheer destructive spectacle. Liked it much better than the 2014 one where they teased and teased him till the third act.

Cant wait for Kong vs. Godzilla next year!

haha, yup, I saw this last night too. screw the “plot”, go for the monster-on-monster destruction. The humans are indeed basically there for scale, as none of them are well written or very interesting. The VFX  are fun though.

I almost saw it yesterday, but couldn’t find a showing at a time that worked for me (wife’s out of town and I had to pick the kids up from Boys & Girls Club), so I went for a matinee of John Wick 3. I hate guns, but goddamn I love the John Wick films.

I’m an old school Godzilla fan, my mom grew up watching the old Toho films and showed them to me while growing up. We both liked 2014 a lot but knew it could benefit from more monster action.

We were both floored by King of the Monsters. We both agreed in unison that it is “fucking awesome.”

I think the critics really misjudged this one. You don’t go into a movie called “King of the Monsters” expecting an Oscar winning plot.
